We are pleased to announce that we’ve published our first ever printed bulletin.
This is being distributed to homes on and around the Cricket Green area by a team of volunteers.
It contains lots of information and news on our activities including an update on the latest plans to build on the Cricketers pub and the London Fire Brigade’s plans for a new fire station which will leave the existing, locally listed building empty.
You can download a copy here.
The bulletin was printed with support from Blythe and Co, chartered accountant and registered auditors, 352-354 London Road, Mitcham, CR4 3ND 020 8646 0000
A summer evening of games on the Cricket Green has become something of a tradition for Mitcham Cricket Green Community and Heritage members and their friends.
This year’s event looked like it might be a washout. It rained for much of the day. Then, as our start time of 6.30 approached, the rain cleared, and the evening was dry, bright and quite warm.
The most popular game of the evening was undoubtedly croquet, with singles and doubles matches completed. People also played boules and quoites. We threw a boomerang and flew a kite. Oh, and there was a spot of juggling too.
The Cricket Pavilion was opened and serving refreshments througout. Around 40 members and their guests enjoyed a pleasant sociable evening. There are a couple of photos of a croquet game on our Flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcgcandh
