Dave Lofthouse worked for Merton Council for 30 years as Tree Officer and then Arboricultural Manager. He lived at The Canons house. Dave added many new trees and developed an arboretum. It has been named in his memory as the Lofthouse Canons Arboretum.

The Dave Lofthouse Tree Walk introduces 30 of the fabulous trees to be found at The Canons. It is a self-guided walk, offering two different starting points, with photographs and descriptions of the trees and a map to help you get around.
