Celebrating our Know Your Cricket Green projects

Thanks to everyone who joined us on Cricket Green on 31 July to celebrate our Know Your Cricket Green project. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we celebrated the completion of two major projects:

  • Cleaning three important heritage items and moving one – the horse trough – back from the main road. See a booklet we have produced about this work called Local Landmarks for more details.
  • Launching our audio trail – a guided walk around Cricket Green that includes recordings of local people. Download this to your phone today!

We were delighted to be joined by around 80 local people during the evening, including the Mayor of Merton and representatives from a number of local organisations.

We also took the opportunity to present a cheque for £900 to Mitcham Cricket Club – the result of fundraising completed earlier in the year. This money is to be allocated to helping develop young players.

Our Chair John Strover presented the cheque to Peter White, president of Mitcham Cricket Club.
